Finance Analyst/ Operations Management Accountant

Lir Chocolates, Navan, County Meath, Ireland 

 

Lir Chocolates is looking for a proactive and hands-on Finance Analyst/ Operations Management Accountant to join our on‑site Finance team at our chocolate factory in Navan. 

 

Reporting to the Head of Operational Finance (Confectionery), you will play a key part in delivering accurate financial reporting, driving operational insights and supporting site performance. You will work across monthly management accounting, performance analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and operational cost reviews. This role would someone who is already established in their finance career and enjoys a blend of analysis, operational support, and practical day‑to‑day financial tasks. 

 

Position type: Full time, permanent 

Hours: Monday - Friday, 08:30 - 17:00 (40 hours per week)

Closing Date: 06/03/2026

Responsibilities

  • Produce accurate monthly management accounts to group standards and deadlines
  • Analyse month‑end results and prepare operational commentary
  • Review material and labour variances (wastage, efficiencies, rate impacts)
  • Manage overhead cost centres and support weekly reviews with Operations
  • Deliver weekly/monthly performance KPIs and dashboard reporting
  • Attend daily and weekly operations meetings as Finance partner to the SLT
  • Work proactively with Operations to identify improvement and savings opportunities
  • Track CAPEX spend and support financial planning for site projects
  • Lead the Budget process for the site operations
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reforecasts
  • Support year‑end audit activities
  • Maintain Balance Sheet reconciliations
  • Support Accounts Team with invoicing as required
  • Identify opportunities to streamline and improve financial processes

Qualifications

  • Experience in a Finance Analyst, Management Accountant or similar role
  • Strong technical grounding in month‑end processes and financial analysis
  • Comfortable with routine tasks as well as more complex analysis
  • Strong Excel skills and confidence working with data
  • Effective communicator, able to partner with operational teams on‑site
  • Part‑qualified qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) desirable
  • Someone who wants to stay close to the detail and remain involved in day‑to‑day finance activity
