Multi Skilled Maintenance Technician

Lir Chocolates, Navan, County Meath, Ireland 

No weekend working, four day week and excellent shift premium.

Closing Date: 05/01/2026

 

We’re on the lookout for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team and help keep our chocolate production running smoothly. 

 

Position type: Full time, permanent 

Hours: 40 per week over 4 days Monday - Friday

Pay range: 

  • Grade 2 - €25.01 - €26.30 per hour + shift premium.
  • Grade 3 - €26.41 - €28.85 per hour + shift premium 

Hours worked before 12 am (Between 16:30 to 11:59 only) will be paid at a premium of 12.5% and hours worked after 12 am (between 00:00 to 03:00 only) will be paid at a premium of 25%.

 

Shift Pattern: 3 week cycle rotating between the following weeks:

  • Monday - Thursday   0600 - 1630
  • Tuesday - Friday       0600-1630
  • Monday - Thursday   1630-0300 

Responsibilities

  • Swiftly troubleshoot and repair equipment and electrical systems.

  • Perform corrective and preventive maintenance for mechanical, hydraulic and electrical control systems.
  • Use data to drive improvement initiatives and enhance efficiency.

  • Minimise downtime by responding quickly to breakdowns.

  • Collaborate with teams across the factory to plan maintenance and improve processes.

  • Operation of Engineering Stores to ensure spares requirements are met.

Qualifications

  • Recognised electrical or mechanical trade qualification or a Higher Certificate (NFQ Level 6) / Ordinary Degree (NFQ Level 7) in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical skills.
  • Experience with food manufacturing machinery such as conveyors, depositors, and wrapping machines.
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach.
  • Experience with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) is an advantage.
  • To qualify as a Grade 3, you would be an expert-level technician with the ability to lead improvement initiatives,
  • manage mechanical/electrical projects, and provide coaching to peers. Must demonstrate leadership, budgeting awareness, and cross-functional collaboration.
