Overview

Mix Maker

Lir Chocolates, Navan, County Meath, Ireland 

 

The successful candidate will prepare mixes per recipes, ensuring accuracy, allergen control, and equipment readiness while maintaining safety, hygiene, and quality standards. 

 

Position type: Permanent, Full-time

Hours: Low Season (December/January - June): 40 hours. High Season (July - November/December): 36 hours

Shift Pattern: Low Season: Monday - Thursday, 06:00 - 16:30. High Season: Friday, Saturday & Sunday, 18:00 - 06:30. 

Pay range: Low Season: €14.24 per hour, High Season: €15.38 per hour (8% uplift)

Breaks: 30 minutes paid & 30 minutes unpaid

 

During the high season, the Mix Maker will transition to the weekend night shift. In the low season, they will return to the Monday through Thursday day shift.

 

Flexibility is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing high-quality mixes by following recipes with precision and care.
  • Picking and checking ingredients to ensure everything is accurate, allergen-safe, and fully traceable.
  • Keeping equipment clean, safe, and ready to go – because great products start with great prep.
  • Recording any issues and making sure all paperwork is spot-on.
  • Staying one step ahead by prepping for upcoming products.
  • Keeping your work area clean, tidy, and up to top hygiene standards.
  • Flagging any ingredient shortages, quality issues, or safety concerns straight away.
  • Following all health & safety rules and company procedures – and always looking for ways to work smarter.
  • Operate large-scale industrial mixers capable of processing up to 60kg per batch. Role involves manual handling and lifting of ingredients up to 25kg.

Qualifications

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving

  • Manual handling and physically demanding tasks

  • Strong maths skills (ratios, percentages)

  • Computer literate; basic admin (e.g., batch codes, dates)

  • Clear communication and ability to follow instructions

  • Manufacturing and kitchen experience (Ideal)

  • Accurate weighing and product preparation
