About the QA Assistant role …

 

We’re on the hunt for two new Quality Assurance (QA) Officer's to join the team based at our chocolate factory in in Navan, Co. Meath.

 

As a QA Assistant at Lir, you will work be a part of the larger Quality department to champion quality standards within the factory, working within Technical and in collaboration with Production teams to ensure the correct standards are met to ensure that we continue to make delicious, high-quality products!

 

This position would suit someone with Quality experience within a food factory looking for the next step in their career, or a recent graduate within a relevant discipline. A good knowledge of Food Safety, HACCP and GMP is crucial for this role.

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Maintain audit standards across the site
  • Complete daily hygiene walks to ensure food safety and quality 
  • Ensure all product and process batch paperwork is maintained. Follow up on out of specification batch records accordingly.
  • Perform checks and internal audits as outlined in the Quality Management System.
  • Report all malfunctions to production executives to ensure immediate action
  • Report all quality issues on the production floor to the Quality Manager.
  • Ensure all ingredients are within their shelf life and batch rotation is adhered to.
  • Ensure all hygiene rules are being adhered to by all staff members.
  • Identify all training requirements to meet the quality standards.
  • Ensure adequate team handover when taking time off.
  • Perform any other task assigned by senior management.
  • Ensure all product and process batch paperwork is maintained.
  • Follow up on out of specification batch records accordingly.
  • Perform routine traceability checks.
  • Verify bar-coding for all products.
  • Ensure the allergen policy and procedures are been complied with.
  • Ensure all ingredients are within their shelf life and batch rotation is adhered to.
  • Implement, monitor and review corrective actions.

Qualifications

  • Good numerical skills and understanding of gap analysis.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office and databases
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Attention to detail is essential.
  • Reliable & trustworthy
  • Relevant experience in similar industry- Food/Fast-Moving Consumer Goofs (desirable)
  • Food Safety Level 1 or 2 (training provided)
  • HACCP trained or experience/understanding.
  • Allergen awareness (training provided)
  • Pest awareness (training provided)
  • Good Manufacturing Practice understanding.
